The HABAU GROUP is currently training 270 young people in 20 different apprenticeships in Austria and Germany. In the 2023 apprenticeship year, around 90 new construction talents joined the team.
With its 15 Group companies, the HABAU GROUP is not only one of the four biggest construction groups in Austria, it also runs one of the top apprenticeship programmes in the country. At present, a total of 171 apprentices are being trained at 13 locations throughout Austria. In our neighbouring country of Germany, to date 99 emerging talents are being trained at six locations. This year alone, 88 newcomers (AT: 48; DE: 40) kicked off their career in construction with the HABAU GROUP.
“Especially in times where we’re seeing a lack of skilled staff and the retirement wave, it’s imperative to be an attractive employer for young talents”, says HABAU GROUP CEO Hubert Wetschnig. “Our apprentices are the construction industry’s next generation, and we want to support them on their own career path as a strong partner with individual training opportunities. After all, investing in our team also means investing in the future.”
Build your own future: 20 apprenticeships to choose from
From building construction, civil engineering and concrete construction to surveying and electrical engineering, structural assistance or information technology – the training areas in the HABAU GROUP are diverse and offer apprentices space to develop their own potential. The construction group places great value on the individual support of the apprentices and provides numerous possibilities to promote their talent.
“Our goal is to impart the skills and abilities of our professions to motivated young people and allow them to discover their joy for this job”, explains Heide Schwarz, head of HR management at the HABAU GROUP. “In doing so, it’s important to identify and encourage the individual strengths of each apprentice to help best prepare them for their career in construction and accompany them along the way.”
