‘A family affair’: Ground-breaking ceremony for 13-million project in Vienna-Floridsdorf

The HABAU GROUP companies HABAU, KARL SEIDL and HELD & FRANCKE are working together to deliver the construction project in Vienna’s 21st district: An office building for 60 HELD & FRANCKE employees is being built at Autokaderstrasse 78-80. Right next door is an employee housing facility with 91 beds. To mark the beginning of the construction works, a ground-breaking ceremony was held on 15 March 2021 in compliance with applicable Covid19 restrictions. District Leader Georg Papai, HABAU shareholder Georgine Rumpler-Heindl and HABAU GROUP CEO Hubert Wetschnig were all in attendance. “The project has given us several reasons to celebrate: On the one hand, we’re investing 13 million euros in Floridsdorf and creating long-term jobs. On the other, HELD & FRANCKE is using this location to further expand its regional sales activities in Vienna and northern Lower Austria,” Wetschnig explains delightedly.

Group-wide synergies

For the HABAU GROUP, the project is also of particular importance because it is being delivered entirely ‘in-house’. HABAU GROUP shareholder Georgine Heindl: “As a group of companies that all started with a family business, we are proud that this project is being implemented entirely within our HABAU GROUP family.” Project managers Thomas Schweiger and Jürgen Waidbacher also highlight the positive collaboration: “The companies involved, HABAU, KARL SEIDL and HELD & FRANCKE, have shown that they are able to perfectly harness the synergies within the Group.” The building has a gross floor area of approx. 5,500 square metres and meets high energy efficiency standards. In terms of materials, the team have opted for concrete and glass for a contemporary design. Completion is scheduled for June 2022.
